Sign the Petition! Stop the violation of our beliefs as Catholics!

Rescind the HHS Dept. Mandate Requiring Catholic Employers to Provide Contraceptives/Abortifacients to Their Employees
The present Administration, through the Health and Human Services Department, is mandating that all employer healthcare insurance plans provide coverage for procedures which violate the beliefs of the Catholic Church, and Catholic institutions.

Basically, the new rules require the Catholic Church, and the institutions operating faithfully under the aegis of the Church, to provide coverage for contraceptive drugs and procedures. This requirement violates the beliefs of the Church.

Never before has the United States Government deigned to represent "transcendental truth" on matters of conscience for any religion within these United States. That in itself is unprecedented, which is also why it is unconstitutional.

Sign to Let the present Administration know that this mandate cannot stand.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease 2011 Volunteer Information

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease 2011
Sunday / October 23rd
Van Saun Park, Paramus

The organizers of this year’s Alzheimer’s Walk are anticipating a larger turn out than ever before, so once again they need our help!

In the past seven years members from this Council and others have become a vital part of the “Northern Walk”; your efforts continue to help the Alzheimer’s Association and our Order to become more prominent in the local community. Last year we had more than 40 Knights turn out to help!

On Sunday, October 23rd, our council, along with a few other councils from Bergen County, will once again be providing the following assistance: setting up in the morning, grilling 1000 hamburgers and 1000 hot dogs and cleaning up. We finish up about 2:00 in the afternoon.

As in the past I’m asking you to come …….
Set-up -- 6:30 and 7:00 in the morning (rakes, leaf blowers and muscles!)
Cook – 9:00 light the grills (charcoal this year!) and cook the burgers and dogs.
Clean-up -- 12:30 - 2:00 knock down tables, pick-up litter and then back to the hall to clean the pans, trays and utensils
Any time you can give is truly appreciated.

So I ask all of you to come and please get involved. At our October 6th, Business Meeting we will organize our plans for this day. If you are able to help on October 23rd please contact me at 201-664-6870 or GEMFW@msn.com.

Thank-you,
George E. Mulhauser, PGK

Past Grand Knights, Jim White and Paul Noonan from the Knights of Columbus Oradell/New Milford Chapter #3814

presented Bergen County Executive Kathleen A. Donovan with a plaque of appreciation for the ongoing support it receives from the county.

The presentation which occurred on June 30th at One Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack, was given in recognition for the support Bergen County has provided to the chapter. Golf green fees and family passes to Van Saun’s Zoo were donated by the County for charity fund-raisers.

The St. Joseph’s chapter located in New Milford wanted to give back to those groups that have supported them through the years.

“All of those people that have taken care of us through the years deserve recognition”, said Paul Noonan.

“We have received many gifts throughout the years for our charity events, from the local store merchants to the pro teams like the Devils and the Nets. This year we wanted to say thanks.”

Mr. Noonan completed his term as Grand Knight on June 30th and today began his new role as Faithful Navigator for the Assembly.
